Riley's Surgery

Poor Riley!!! He has suffered from alot of sore throats and stuffy noses for the last six months we finally took him to the ear nose throat doctor because we figured his tonsils needed to come out (Jesse had hers out so we knew what to look for) Sure enough tonsils needed to come out. We scheduled his surgery during Christmas break hoping he wouldn't miss to much school. Poor Riley spent half of his vacation in pain.

Here he is before surgery and after IV. He did good getting the IV he didn't even cry or complain to much. Take note of the cute hospital gown.

We spent alot of time waiting so I was playing with my new cel phone I got for Christmas. (it actually took pretty good pictures)

I love my little boy!!

Here is Riley after surgery. He was not happy. He felt loopy waking up and his toungue was numb so it felt funny. We waited another hour and half until he felt good enough to go for a walk. During his walk he threw up so we had to wait longer before we could go home. He was feeling better, they let him get dressed and we were about to leave when he threw up again, more waiting. Doctor finally gave him anti nausea medicine and we made it home. Thanks to Jesse who stayed home with Adam!!

The last few days have been rough for Riley, he has been in pain not so much his troat but his ears. There is a nerve in his throat that is connected to his ear that is affected by the surgery so he has pain in his ears when he tries to eat anything even soft foods so he doesn't want to eat just drink. He also had a few times when his troat has bled, not normal and not good. Luckily we have been able to stop the bleeding by him drinking ice water and have not had to take him back to the hospital. He is still home from school and not feeling well. I hope he heals fast!! I know he will be better in the long run.
