Riley's Hobbies

Riley's 4-H Horse group "Rough Riders" had a fundraiser play day. Everyone was invited to attend and compete in the events that were divided into age group. It cost a $1.50 to enter the event and $.50 went toward the prize. The events were barrels, poles, keyhole, egg race and ride a buck. Riley entered all the events and did really well. There was also a raffle with a drawing for prizes. Although the weather was warm we all enjoyed the day. I was impressed on how well everything was organized. Many thanks to his 4-H leaders.

This picture is of Riley warming up. I only got video of him running the barrels. He did great on barrels and placed second in his age group. He won a ribbon and a dollar.

WHOA!!!

Riley running the poles. He missed the pattern and did not place, infact everyone in his age group missed the pattern so nobody won. He still did great and it was good practice for him and his horse.

This is Riley doing the keyhole. He did perfect with no mistakes, he just didn't do it as fast as the other kids so he didn't place in this event. Still great practice.

The egg race was hard for Riley he did well until he had to make his horse trot then he lost the egg off the spoon.

Ride a buck is where you ride your horse bareback with a dollar under your butt. The last person who still has their dollar wins all the dollars, in this case there were 16 riders so $16 bucks could be won. Riley was practicing riding bareback and decided it was to hard so Jace finished this event. Jace was doing pretty good, there were only a couple riders left when the horse in front of him started bucking and the guy fell off. This threw Jace's balance off just enough for him to lose his dollar.
All in all we had fun and even came home with some raffle prizes.

SOCCER
The only sport Riley really loves to play.

Grandpa says "Saddle horns are not for honking"

He loves horses and he loves to wear his Hat and boots, or even other peoples boots. He always asks for his boots and hat, he is up to about 100 words now and yesterday Jesse taught him to spit like a real cowboy.
