What a difference 3 months makes.
Cameron and Adam are going to be good friends
After the enjoyable visit with my sister we decided because we were already so close to Oregon that we should just keep going to the coast so we kept driving. We stayed one night in Pendleton Oregon, then woke up early and drove the rest of the way until we ended up at Rockaway beach where we were able to find a place to stay at the Rock Creek Inn condos. They were pretty nice but the best part was the condo was right on the beach so we had great views and easy beach access.
Writing in the sand
Jesse and Riley were not afraid to get in the water. The water was cold but they were numb up to their knees.
The weather was beautiful. It was warmer than usual I guess in Portland they were having record breaking heat and not many people have air conditioning so alot of them decided to head to the beach. We were going to stay another night but couldn't because everything was full with all the people escaping the heat.
We found a store that was selling over priced buckets and shovels, but you can't be at the beach and not build a sand castle. Adam was wet and exhausted from playing in the water all we had in the diaper bag was warm pjs, so we put them on and he was beach bummed out. (We had an umbrella over him but removed it for the picture)
We stayed in the building on the right with the 3 big triangles

Riley at sunset

We also drove about 25 miles up coast to Cannon beach. On this day the mist set in and we couldn't see the ocean as well. With the mist and the humidity Jesse and I couldn't keep our hair straight.

Before we left we stopped for a little hike, we walked to see this big spruce tree
We also hiked to see the Octopus tree

Lighthouse at Cape Meares. I wish we would have been at the lighthouse on a clear day because we would have seen some great views of the ocean, but all we could see was fog.

We couldn't leave without stopping at the Tillamook cheese factory. We saw how they made cheese and of course tried some of the ice cream. It was neat to watch how they cut, weighed and packaged the cheese. The ice cream was delicious.

On the car drive Adam didn't do so good he got grumpy, so we decided to try and drive all the way home in one night that way he could sleep. We left Tillamook at 8:00 pm on Wednesday and Jace and I tag teamed drivng all night until we got home about 9:30 am Thursday morning.
That part was not very fun, but the kids slept most the way and we all had a big nap on Thursday. We had alot of fun wish we could have stayed longer, we will have to go back when Adam is older and he can really enjoy the water!
